From Sci-Fi Wire:Steve Sansweet, who handles fan relations for Lucasfilm, told Now Playing Magazine that Star Wars will live on in various TV projects beyond the upcoming final prequel film Star Wars: Episode III—Revenge of the Sith. "We are looking into all kinds of things for the future," Sansweet, Lucasfilm's director of content management and fan relations, told the magazine. "We're looking for television clearly—animation [and] we are looking into live-action television." Sansweet declined to say what kind of live-action TV programming the studio envisions.

Just seen the following on theforce.net I would guess that means it will be at least 2007 before we see a Star Wars TV series.

theforce.net is reporting that George Lucas has hinted that Boba Fett may appear in the TV Series. Sorry, but isn't that just pandering to fanboys? What GL needs to do is get some proper writers in. Look at the new series of Doctor Who, IMHO it blew away ROTS. Get Rob Shearman (Dalek) or Steven Moffat (Empty Child & The doctor Dances) involved. For the love of Aphrodite, please get some good writers and Directors involved.

i don't mind Boba Fett being in it, just as long as it does not become the Boba Fett show. dreadtech

Looks good (maybe) for Star Wars fans. Let's hope flanelled one doesn't spoil it. Latest from the BBC website:The TV series spin-off of the Stars Wars film franchise will run to at least 100 episodes, according to producer Rick McCallum. He told BBC Radio 1 the writing team would soon be meeting to start on the project, which would begin filming in 2008 and be ready the same year. "Hopefully if we can make it work and everybody's excited and watches it we will keep on going," said McCallum. The series will be set between episodes three and four of the film saga. It would cover the 20 years in the life of Luke Skywalker growing up that remains a mystery to most film-goers. McCallum said there would be "a whole bunch of new characters" and the series would be "much more dramatic and darker".
