Smith & JonesA solid start to Series 3. So lets begin with the important bit, Martha - doesn't she look good. Freema gave a very good performance and would appear more than owrthy of her role in Doctor Who. So, the plot. The Judoon are intergalactic police (who can be likened to Judge Dredd) who are after an alien blood sucking Plasmavore. They know the Plasmavore is in an Earth hospital so teleport the hospital to the moon so they can investigate, as you do. Visting Earth The Doctor was uspicious of goings on so checked into the hospital. So the plot was simple enough, acting was good and the special effects were great - I loved the Judoon and their spaceships. Overall a good start 6/10 Smith & Jones scored an AI of 88 and pulled in 8.2 million viewers with a 39% share. That's pretty good all round! Maybe Doctor Who can break the AI of 90 this year!

The Infinity Quest - Part 1
The is the 3 minutes animated short shown as part of CBBC's Totally Doctor Who.
Only 3 minutes long, so similar to Star Wars: Clone Wars. The animation wasn't bad to be honest. It was just a fun 3 minutes of The Doctor & Martha battling an evil despot who is about to destroy the Earth. Great stuff!

The Shakespeare CodeThe Doctor and Martha travel back to Elizabethan times and meet William Shakespeare. Only they discover that Shakespeare's words are being used by an ancient evil race that will allow them to cross into our dimension and destroy the world. Pretty normal stuff really for the best show on TV. The plot was pretty standard, nothing overly special. The acting however was superb with an interesting and entertaining take on Shakespeare. And the special effects, showing Elizabethan London, were absolutely amazing - fantastic even, with the atmosphere dark and menacing, Overall a solid story. 7/10

GridlockGridlock was very good, I really enjoyed this episode. Despite traveling to many cities on many planets in the past they just couldn't escape looking like the Blue Peter studio. This was much better. Again, Doctor Who has nothing but the best actors on TV. I'd just love to see Ardal O'Hanlon as Brannigan again. Then the Macra, seeing them was totally awesome. Overall 8/10 p.s. I'm sure I was the only one that first thought the episode was set on th e M25 ;D

Daleks in Manhattan1930's New York, middle of the Us depression, and the Cult of Skaro led by Dalek Sec are trying to evolve! This was good, the best of the season so far. Showgirls, dancing, Daleks. No, the Daleks weren't the dancing showgirls, although that would make for an interesting story. Overall 7/10

Evolution of the DaleksThe part of the Dalek story set in 1930's New York. Pretty good story, but who didn't see the Cult of Skaro turning on Sec, or Dalek Kahn going to emergency Temporal Shift? Still, great fun, and excellent special effects realising 1930's New York. 7/10

Brilliant episode, the best yet of Series Three! The Lazarus ExperimentAs I sat down to watch I had a little trepidation. The stories featuring favourite actors of mine (eg. Simon Pegg, Peter Kay) have not always lived up to my expectations. So when it was the turn of self-confessed Dr Who nut Mark Gatiss I was a little worried. Fears cast aside, Gatiss was fantastic! The whole episode was. It featured possibly the most freaky, and I guess scary, monster I can think of in Doctor Who. And it was well balanced with the humour of the The Doctor turning the organ "up to eleven," and his comment on "reverse the polarity." Good stuff, and the next episode looks like it's going to be a cracker too! 8/10

42Now that was good. This series really stepped up a gear with Lazarus, and it stays there. I can nearly forgive the Eurosmeg for the week we missed. 42 was great from the start. Some stories need 10 minutes to get into, but not this. Action and drama! I wasn't a fan of Michelle Collins before, but I might be now, her acting was wonderful. The whole of the cast were. And I loved the feel of the grimy old spaceship burning up under the sun. And to tie it all into the upcoming episodes too, even better. 8/10 Bring on Saxon!

Human NatureBrilliant episode. I loved it. Series 3 has finally hit it's stride, and wow! The scarecrows were really creepy. It's strange, you sort of know what is going on, but you don't. I'd forgot this weeks was Human Nature, but from the pre-credits sequence I could tell it was Paul Cornell's writing. 8/10

Family of BloodWow! I mean... wow! I mean... wow! I mean... That was superb! Without a doubt the best story of the season, and possibly the best story since The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. Everything about it. The story was interesting. It was well acted with the perfect cast. Everyone just looked the part. It was well directed from camera angles to the lighting to the emotion. And such emotion. The end scene seeing the lad as an old war veteran was a wonderful touch that brought tear to my eye. It's episodes like this that make me proud to be a fan of Doctor Who. 10 / 10 Fantastic!

Very good episode, I enjoyed it very much. Derek Jacobi was wonderful as the Professor and even better as The Master, as was John Simm. Two amazing actors to play The Doctors ultimate nemesis. It nearly over-shadowed Jacks return... okay, not quite. The primary plot was okay, but let's face it, it was just the lead in to the return of The Master. So 8 out of 10 overall, but 10 out of 10 for the last 5 minutes. Overall 8/10

The Sound of DrumsWhat a superb episode. I was literally shaking with excitement and grinning inanely throughout the entire episode. The Sound of Drums. Fantastic!!! Russell T. Davies has got The Master amazingly right for the new series. And John Simm, brilliant, he has portrayed The Master in a new, exciting, humourous and evil way. And we even get an answer as to how he managed to Regenerate and a little Time Lord back story. Superb. Overall 10 out of 10 Best of the Best. I don't see how someone who doesn't like this episode can call themself a Doctor Who fan.
